Revellers enjoyed a red, white and blue firework theme to celebrate 100 years of the Royal Air Fotrce and there was upbeat music to accompany the pyrotechnics.

A Springfields spokesperson said: “We’re proud to have hosted our 14th annual music and fireworks extravaganza at Springfields on Thursday evening.

"Our fireworks display has become a well-established community event with thousands of people attending locally but also from further afield.

"To celebrate the 100th anniversary of the creation of the Royal Air Force, this year’s display followed a red, white and blue theme, there was a huge archway decorated with multi coloured lights, all choreographed to a wide range of appropriate uplifting music from the past and present."
